Crescent sports club Benin celebrated the Sallah holidays in style in the only way the know -by beating the foe in front of them

Following the footsteps of record breaking, history making, Rebranded Bendel Insurance, CSC remain unbeaten this season.

The game that saw the debut of Video Assistant Reffree VAR in Benin City lived up to its billing as both teams unsuccessfully tried to break down the opposition.

The introduction of energetic, roving Izu Okoronkwo -that was Christianed ‘Makanaky’ during the game, and sprightly Dr Wole Opatola PhD at the back ensured that the guests that started with gusto and industry were denied most of their rhythm.

The decider had come on the half hour mark after a Gunner nodded the ball against his arm in his box and Central referee Alumhe propmptly pointed to the spot.

There was a protest from the co-commentator Chidi ‘Lopi’ Anene from Naija Gunners on the grounds that it was not a delebrate punishable infringement and called for VAR.

The President of CSC and captain of his team that day that had just been replaced on the pitch settled the matter by requesting the complainant to *”go to court”*

Ex international Baldwin Bazuaye MON picked up the ball to register the opener from the ensuring spot kick which made it his 266th goal playing for and in Crescent Sports Club Benin.

CSC had two late chances to bury the tie but Henry Kadiri free on goal after looping the unrushing goalkeeper outside the box fluffed in front of an unprotected goal when it was easier to score than miss.

Afterwards Substitute Gattuso indicated his presence striking a volley from Balwin Bazuaye’s lovely delivery but straight to the hands of the visiting Goalkeeper which ensured that the score ended 1:0.

After the final whistle of the pulsating encounter The CSC President declared *”No Victor, No vanquished”* nd invited all to the Third half of merry and Jolly.

Naija Gunners are a registered team of Lagos based football enthusiasts and professionals from various fields that support Arsenal FC UK, and play weekly at Yaba college of technology Lagos.

They visited the ancient City of Benin to mark the festivities of the celebration of life of a daughter of the soil Madam Patricia Kehinde Akpata.
